Felt and Yarn celebrated Kukur Tihar ‘festival to worship dogs’ at Kathmandu Animal Treatment Centre (KAT Centre). Founder and Owner of Felt and Yarn, Mrs. Sunita Sherpa along with her team visited the center.

The center was founded and established by Laxmi Sharma, who is a renowned entrepreneur in the handicraft industry in Nepal, has been working on rescuing and saving stray dogs around Kathmandu Valley.

Founded in Jan 2004, the Kathmandu Animal Treatment Center (KAT Centre), is the largest animal welfare organization in the country. The charity organization works to promote the health of street dogs in Kathmandu

The FNY team worshiped and provided food to the dogs as well as donated to the KAT center. The team spent time with the rescued dog and fed them with food.

With the coinciding interest of both the women in the handicraft industry and their love for animals, this participation has helped in promoting the health of street dogs in Kathmandu, through animal birth control, rabies vaccination, disease treatment, and community education.

Felt and Yarn, being a responsible corporate house focuses on products made from animal cruelty-free materials. The company has been contributing to sustainability and supporting local marginalized women and now has been driving its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with such social initiatives for animals as well.

Felt and Yarn also made a commitment to continue working on animal care and help by supporting the center in the coming years for continuous improvement through a shared vision.
